CONTACT US

Greetings!

Bloody Underrated is a place where under-appreciated artists of all sorts are our bread and butter… not that this website actually generates money, bread, or butter. We do our best to locate great artists who are not getting enough attention and attempt to share them with a new audience. We’re into almost every genre, and we’re always on the lookout for talented bands, great plays, or any other events that seem to be going unnoticed and could use some exposure. Got any suggestions? Any comments? We want to hear them – drop us a line. Long live independent art!

Cheers,

The Bloody Underrated Team:

Al – The man who started this wretched website in early 2010. Al’s madly in love with the Fringe, can’t get enough music in his brain, and won’t shut his damn mouth. He has been known to spend unhealthy amounts of time at MainLine Theatre. Oh, and he’s got a million plans, some of which will see the light of day, hopefully. Here’s an interview from May 2012 in which he talks about the site.

Vic – The woman who joined up with him mysteriously in mid-2011. Vic runs the website and brings the world around her to life in a different way every week with her webcomic, B.O.A.T.S. She also plans on murdering Al in the near future, so he stops talking her ear off with his crazy projects.

Matt – The man who suspiciously weaved his way into the fold in 2011. Actor, student, guitarist, Dave Grohl-worshipper, all-around awesome fella.

Allison – Allison – Our resident dance writer, as of 2012. She is a dancer, choreographer, event producer, a founding member of the Bouge d’ici Dance Festival and a Dirty Feet Podcast host and producer. She is generally charming and a constant supporter of the scene!

Danielle – Monthly columnist, writer of “D-Tales“. Book enthusiast, writer, blogger, master wrapper, gift shop savior!

Michelle – Resident comic book expert and movie addict, Michelle joined us a few months into 2012, and we plan on holding onto her for as long as we can, though she’ll no doubt be swept away from us by some brilliant publishing firm in the near future.

kat

Kathryne – Shogun Warrior and Invincible Defender of world freedom, her current webcomic is Mostly Dinosaurs and no one reads it. Sometimes she is a communications strategist in the arts and pop culture, sometimes Live Events Producer at No More Radio but mostly she sits at home and watches X-Files with the lights off.

Shane – BU’s token Australian. He is an actor, improviser, writer, musician and a generous lover. He writes the stories about Frank Allen (the tiny man who lives in Al’s beard), Fringe blogs and other bits and pieces. He once got bit by a radioactive spider but only developed a highly powerful “annoying web-presence”. He wrote this bio himself. www.zackadams.org

Sue-bio

Sue – The tall chick who always stands in the front row at shows and totally blocks your view. She’s nearsighted, ok?  When not pissing off young punks, she’s teaching yoga or bellydancing with Ethereal Tribal. Writes about music here on BU. Daily obsessions and random b.s. at twitter.com/Susie_Qc.

Craig – Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland, Craig possesses an honors degree in Philosophy and a dry sense of humor. One of the newest additions to the Bloody Underrated gang, his passion for music writing has landed him a spot as a bi-weekly columnist. Craig’s other interests include: playing football (sorry, I mean soccer), hanging out in Al’s beard and listening to as much new music as is humanly possible.

Andrea – Andrea has dabbled in stand-up comedy and played the awkward teenager in Verbal Diary-ah: Confessions of an Awkward Teenager (2011 Montreal Fringe Festival). Wife, mother, lover of the Montreal Arts scene. Needs excuses to get out of the house and is probably the oldest one at this party.

J.D
J.D. – A member of the Dirty Feet team, he is a dancer, choreographer and dance journalist. He has a strong interest in a variety of movement-based activities, such as capoeira, parkour and circus arts. His work has been presented at Short & Sweet, Studio 7 and Art Matters. As a performer, he has danced in festivals such as Bouge d’Ici and the Montreal Fringe.

JoannieInternet4
Joannie – Can claim to her fame that she danced on the French TV show Le Match des étoiles.  She is a choreographer who has presented work at the Fringe Festival and Liens et Lieux. She has recently returned from England, where she was bettering her technique and expanding her horizons.

Xavier - BU
Xavier – French by birth, daydreamer by profession, purist by choice. He recently moved to Montreal to avoid running into reputable characters. And he failed miserably. During this exile, he tries to compensate his lack of artistic creativity by absorbing as much knowledge as he can. And he’s starting to get good at it.

Tasha Lovsin – writer, blogger, improviser and occasional cartoonist. When she’s not on stage or staring at a computer screen, she’s probably laughing loudly at something that someone somewhere did. You can catch her on stage at the Montreal Improv theatre, or you can find out more about her personal adventures by checking out her blog.
