Webseries Week: Pillars

3 + 6 = Life. 36 are the number of people. They are human. They balance out the equilibrium of the earth — if all die within sunrise to sunset — then we die — the battle continues. They are Pillars.

Enter the world of Twilight Drive Pictures as they present the series Pillars, available on YouTube but easier to browse on Koldcast (though you have to deal with ads and the most annoying station ID I’ve heard outside of CJLO). Here’s the first episode, to give you a taste.

The show is shot mostly on handheld, but with great-quality video and generally awesome shots throughout, many of which are shot in a style reminiscent of first-person video games. Though the plotline isn’t always the easiest to follow, the main characters are driven, passionate, and well-defined enough to make up for the occasional lack of clarity. The show’s super addictive once you get into it, and will leave you dying for more once you reach the end of its 6-episode first season. I truly wish this show was written out in a longer format and cut into a full-length tv show, but I’ll settle for this webseries, seeing as I don’t have the choice not to. All I can do is hope for more and more episodes of this hidden sci-fi gem. An easy recommendation for any sci-fi fans out there.
