Stolen From the Radio: 08/06 (Bend Sinister)
I love stumbling upon great acts that are from Canada. National musical pride ftw! Ladies and gents, I present to you: Bend Sinister.
Blending hints of classic rock with Mars Volta influences, Bend Sinister have crafted their own peculiar style of rock n’ roll that I somehow can’t get enough of. They’ve got some soul in ‘em, they clearly want to have a good time, as is made apparent by most of the tracks on “Small Fame”, the band’s newest offering. Here’s the lead single from that record, “Don’t You Know”.
Though some of its tracks become a bit too poppy for my taste, the whole record’s a blast, and it’s moving into my ipod with no plans on movin’ out. These guys’ll be coming to town on October 8th to play Casa Del Popolo, and you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be there. If I get my way, I’ll get these guys to come be the musical guest on Edge of the City that afternoon as well. Now go to Bend Sinister’s website and keep tabs on everything these guys are up to!
