Folk Thief

The West coast has a bunch of awesome folk talent. In fact, it produces so much folk that a lot of it seems to get swept under the rug. Singer/songwriter David Hadgkiss performs as Folk Thief, and you all should know about him.

Folk Thief’s debut record “Love, Heartache & Oblivion” came out exactly one year ago, and it’s been a steady presence on my ipod since I stumbled upon it. The man’s got a way with a guitar, and his heartfelt lyrics make for some great hooks. Beyond the debut record, Folk Thief’s put out the occasional single as well, including the single “Love”, for Valentine’s Day. I’d love to hear another record from this guy, and I’d love for him to come out on tour. Here’s my favourite track from “Love, Heartache & Oblivion”, it’s called “A Light For Liberty”.
