Noble Scale

I hope you’re in Montreal, because if you’re not, you’re temporarily fucked. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: Noble Scale.

When I was studying sound engineering earlier this year, one of my classes involved recording a random band for a few weeks and learning different types of miking, etc. I had no voice in the choosing of the band, but I got as lucky as I possibly could be: I ended up working with some awesome guys calling themselves Noble Scale.

These four guys have been together for a few years now, although their lineup has only recently become cemented as they prepare to launch their second EP, which will feature the four songs we recorded together as well as one or two more. Having heard this, I am giving you a heads up and making a bold statement: These guys are the best unsigned band in Montreal today.

I can hardly find the words to try to explain to you how awesome these guys are, both in the studio and in a live setting. I caught one of their sets tonight as they returned to the scene with their new bassist in hand, 6 months after their last performance. It was like they hadn’t even left for a day, these guys were dead on for every aspect of their performance. New bassist Joel more than filled the empty spot left behind by their previous bassist, whatever his name was.

I wish I had some audio samples to show you what these guys are really made of, but it’ll have to wait until their new EP is out in early 2011. For now, you can feast your ears on their earlier works which are available on MySpace, but that’s it. Keep your eyes peeled for these guys in the near future though. Pending some mysterious disaster, I see no reason why these guys wouldn’t explode.
